Whether you are a young company that is just starting up or your company simply needs a breath of fresh air; the budget for photos plays a big role.
No matter which category you play in, it is always advisable to compare.
With a flexible budget, you will pick out the best offer. That would be a short blog post…
Now to the companies, who may even have reservations about approaching photographers because they are afraid of large sums in the offer:
Instead of fixed packages that may not offer the right content for you, I seek dialogue with the customer. We find out where the priorities lie, e.g. sympathetic employee portraits & the manufacturing process of your product. You give me a fixed budget that should not be exceeded. Here, too, you have to go over the books and calculate what is feasible. Now I offer you the best solution within your price range, without any nasty surprises.
Why not just take your own photos or use stock images?
Self-made pictures are still better than no pictures. You can use your own photos as placeholders until you have the time & money for professional ones. Especially when building a website, it is important to know what the layout should look like.
But don’t take too much time with the change, because your customers will notice the difference 😉
The Big Google Mistake: Copying and using images from Google Search is not a good idea! Images have an author and he has rights and tools to find out where his images are used. So if you want to go the legal route (highly recommended), go to stock image sites. There you will find images that have been released specifically for this purpose. Often there are free photos, or you pay a small license fee.
But Lara, why are you telling us as a photographer where we can get free pictures and that it’s ok to take some yourself?
Quite simply: together is better than against each other. Cell phone photos and stock images are no competition because sooner or later you will feel the need for an upgrade that reflects your personality and not the 0815 standard. And guess what? I will be there & give you a warm welcome 😉
